I can’t believe it, but another year has gone by and here we are in February! The most exciting event in Scottsdale is the Parada del Sol at about this time of year. This year, they have a parade (at 10 am) and a rodeo (the next weekend) and more.
2014 Scottsdale Event Calendar
The calendar for the 61st Annual Parada del Sol is as follows:
- Parade February 8, 2014 at 10am
- PRCA Champions Challenge Rodeo February 27, 2014
- PRCA Rodeo March 1 & 2, 2014
It’s a great place to take the kids! See my photo above from last year and be sure to bring a camera, a chair, and something to drink. The weather will be perfect, as usual, and it’s a great fun! Watching the parade is always free.
Where in Scottsdale is the Parada del Sol?
The parade starts at Scottsdale and Oak, just north of Mcdowell and ends at Scottsdale and Indian School Road. The Trails End Celebration is one block south of Indian School and East of Scottsdale Road.
Parada del Sol through the years
I’ve been going to the parade for years! My first time was when I was a child (back in the 1980s) and I even walked in the parade once with a bunch of people as part of a group.
Here are a few photos from 2004’s parade.
